How to Make Firey Text

This tutorial is based off of a tutorial by Tom Jackson.

  1. Open the Program Paint.Net.

  2. Using the Paint Bucket Tool make this layer black.

  3. On your colors window change the color to white. Click the white color.

  4. Click the text tool.

  5. Click on the down arrow to choose your text.

  6. Increase the size of the text.

  7. I used the size 96.

  8. Type something like your name.  Don't use Room 49.

  9. Use the Gaussian Blur.

  10. Set the Radius number to 12.  This number may not work for you.  You may have to experiment a little.

  11. Add a layer.

  12. Press the F4 Key.

  13. Set the mode to negation.

  14. Set the color back to black.

  15. Add some clouds.

  16. Set the Blend Mode for the clouds to Negation.

  17. Repeat the process of the Clouds effect.  This makes it look more like fire.

  18. Flatten the image.

  19. Go the Curves Adjustment.

  20. Change from Luminosity to RGB.

  21. Adjust the curves to look like this. Remember to adjust one color at a time.  This means click the green box so there is only a check mark for the color green.  Do the same for blue.

  22. Now you have firey text.
