Minimize, Maximize, Restore Down, and Close
Suppose you have a window open. In this picture the
www.abcews.comm is maximized or
it takes the maximum amount of the screen.

Minimize
or the
button on the left will make it disappear into the task bar. It is not
the same as closing.
Restore Down
or the
middle button will allow you to resize the window. Restore Down means to
make it a little smaller.

When you are done; click on the X to close the window.
Here is a second way to use these buttons. Not everyone is aware of them, however they are useful.
Locate the window at the bottom of your screen. Mine
is abcnews.com ![]()
Right click on the window you want to change.

This shows you that you can maximize, minimize, or close the window.
Check out the little shortcut next to close.
